Dressing Room

Project Summary

Hand built and fitted dressing room, vanity unit, mirror, freestanding bedside tables and console tables.

Lambourn, Berkshire

The client initially commissioned Kivist Joinery to design and make a vanity unit and mirror for a bathroom for their property in Lambourn in Berkshire. However, they were so pleased with the finished pieces that they then commissioned a dressing room, walnut bedside tables and console tables.

Kivist Joinery was recommended to the client by their friend. At the initial meetings the client had lots of examples of work that they admired which were really valuable in the initial design discussion. The meeting is really valuable in setting the foundation for the end design in terms of style, colours and architectural influences in relationship the final surrounding environment.

The design for the dressing room makes creative use of the space available, even down to how you enter and exit the room!

The bedside cabinets were made from American black walnut with mitred corners throughout showing off the beautiful detail in the wood grain. Particular attention was paid to how the pieces of wood have been chosen so that the wood grain flows around the faces, creating a waterfall effect. Traditional dovetail joints compliment the simplistic designs and give a flawless finish.
